I am working on hand building figures from stoneware white clay, decorating them with a variety of slips. The first figure I built was a large stoneware figure entitled 'Mummy, my tummy hurts', inspired by my daughters who both have coeliac disease.

This figure was made from porcelain paper clay and represents a figures whose arms have turned into wings. I originally made this to enter a competition with the theme of dreams but was undecided whether to glaze the piece.
Exotic flowers is a theme I explored earlier this year. This has resulted in experimenting with slip casting to produce bowls decorated with a poppy image. I decided to paint a series of bowls in different colours.

I don't normally enjoy handbuilding but having found the process of making the figures very therapeutic, I decided to return to coiling. One night I dreamt about shapes and woke to find the pot below fully formed in my mind. I love the texture of the oatmeal glaze but the tenmoku worked less well, especially where the glazes overlap. i have called this piece 'Mouse' Pot because of the snout like end.

I have been producing work inspired by Japanese woodblock prints for some time.
This is a tile panel showing a Geisha in profile. The work is 2D except for the hair and hair decorations which are 3D in raised clay. I mounted the pieces on a black section of MDF and decided not to fill the gap with grout but to let the black background show through. This tile panel acts as a screen and lives in my fireplace.
